Top 5 Exotic Sports Cars on the Market

Getting behind the wheel of an amazing sports car is a truly wonderful experience. Each year, a handful of car manufacturers aim to release the best sports car. This year, there are plenty of awesome vehicles to choose from, including the Corvette, the Jaguar F-Type, the Porsche Boxster, and the Porsche Cayman.

Those are some great vehicles, but they are not the very top of the line. If you really want to experience the power of sports vehicles, then look over this list of the top 5 exotic sports cars for 2016.

#1 – Ferrari 488 Spider

2016 Ferrari 488 Spider will cost you about a 1/4 of a million dollars, but it is worth every penny. An open-topped Ferrari gives you a new perspective from the cockpit of one of the greatest exotic sports cars.  The roof is actually a metal hardtop that folds into two parts. When closed, the only indication that this is a convertible is the line that runs along the middle of the roof. In the folded position, the roof is hidden beneath the rear panel.

Featuring a twin-turbo 3.9-liter V8 located in the rear, you will feel and hear all 8000 rpm. Precision steering and responsive transmission come from the new stability control system and a dual-clutch seven-speed transmission. The 0-60 time has been clocked in at 3.0 seconds.

#2 – Porsche 911 Turbo

The Porsche 911 Turbo has a lower price tag, with an MSRP of $152,000, making it almost reasonably affordable. This is one of the best-selling sports cars of all time, known for a powerful engine and a timeless body that undergoes moderate facelifts with each new release. The Porsche 911 Turbo is a superstar among exotic sports cars and is capable of doing 0-60 mph in less than three seconds.

#3 – McLaren 570S

The McLaren 570S Coupe is an interesting entry on this list. The exterior design is very original, but may not appeal to everyone. Even though there are a couple of other “entry level” vehicles on this list that comes in at a lower price tag, McLaren is still hoping that the 570S Coupe will appeal to the average consumer – instead of those with a garage of supercars.

While the outside is definitely interesting, it is the inside that really counts. The McLaren 570S has a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V-8 with 562 hp. The manufacturer claims a 0-60 time of 3.2 seconds with a top speed of 204 mph. The 570S uses adaptive suspension, ceramic brakes, and a 7-speed manual transmission to handle the rear-wheel drive. The McLaren 570S may not yet have the same level of recognition as the other exotic sports cars on this list, but it is worth paying attention to.

#4 – Lamborghini Huracan

The 2016 Lamborghini Huracan is another beautiful exotic sports car. Combining sharp lines with a low, aerodynamic body, the latest Lamborghini is one of the most stylish sports cars on the market.

The Lamborghini is considered an entry-level supercar with a performance that matches its fighter jet exterior. You get a 5.2-liter V-10 engine with a 7-speed dual clutch automatic. There is no manual transmission, but that is not really necessary at this level of performance. It can do the 0-60 in about 2.5 seconds and eats up about 20 miles per gallon on the highway.

#5 – Lamborghini Aventador

At the end of this list is the Lamborghini Aventador. You will need at least 400,000 dollars to take one of these cars home, unless you want to lease it for $6,600 per month. The most powerful vehicle on the list, the Aventador has a 6.5-liter, 691 horsepower, a V-12 engine with a seven-speed automatic transmission. Get up to 60 mph in just 3 seconds and then start burning through 17 miles per gallon on the highway.

The Aventador shares a lot of characteristics with the Huracan, when it comes to the design of the body. It has a similar combination of sharp lines and elegant curves. It is less intimidating to view than the other exotic sports cars on this list, leaving you with a beautiful piece of machinery. The Aventador has no reason to impress you with a complex body full of futuristic-looking embellishments. With the power hidden inside this beast, it could look however it wants on the outside.

It is also one of the most comfortable and pleasing Lamborghinis to drive, which makes it the top pick on this list. Unfortunately, it is by far the most expensive out of these exotic sports cars.

While you could purchase a house with the amount of money needed to buy one of these exotic sports cars, that should not stop you from picturing yourself behind the wheel. It is always fun to dream, which is partially the reason for these vehicles. Exotic sports cars such as these give you something to dream for, and possibly one day – to drive.
